Lounge Seating For Outdoor Weddings

Lounge Seating For Outdoor Weddings

Chaise Lounge

One of the biggest trends in weddings over the last few years has been the lounge. This is a great concept: set up comfortable seating in one section of the wedding reception as a place for guests to relax and chat after dinner. It is much more comfortable than sitting around the large dinner table trying to have a conversation, and far more chic as well. There are many different ways to decorate the lounge area; these are some great ideas for lounge seating for outdoor weddings.

Let's say you were having a beach wedding, and carrying that theme through everything from the wedding decorations to food to even your bridal jewelry. For your lounge at the reception, plan on a cabana stripe theme. Rent beautiful teak outdoor furniture sets which include two person sofas, a few reclining chairs, and teak side tables. Create a cabana feeling with striped cushions on the seating, potted palm trees, and drapery. To really bring the theme home, set up a large cabana complete with a fabric top and draperies to finish off the space. Your guests will be able to relax in shady comfort while they sip tropical drinks and chat.

Another fantastic idea for an outdoor wedding lounge area is a modern white Miami style. This is perfect for the bride who prefers a fresh minimalist look for everything from her flowers to bridal jewelry. Oversized white reclining chaise lounges covered in white sheeting material will be the focus of the furniture group. Surround them with tall hurricane lanterns filled with white pillar candles and white orchids floating over smooth black river rocks for decoration. Consider adding a custom cigar bar as a surprise gift to the groom, if he is into cigars for special occasions.

For a garden wedding, a romantic lounge area is in order. Think old fashioned English garden, with wicker arm chairs and low sofas. Choose floral cushion covers in a few different patterns to give your lounge that mix and match casual English country feeling. Glass topped wicker tables will provide guests a place to set down their lemonade or iced teas while conversing. To make your reception even more fun, set up some traditional lawn games near the lounge, such as croquet and lawn bowling.

One more option for the lounge area at an outdoor wedding reception is a New England cottage style. Whitewashed Adirondack chairs with comfy pillows make the perfect seating for this type of lounge. Instead of traditional side tables, stack up sturdy boxes woven of natural colored seagrass. A low coffee table can be used to hold clear bowls of shells for decoration. Your guests will feel as though they are relaxing on the porch of a Nantucket inn.

Finally, for the sophisticated bride, a French Riviera inspired lounge would be fabulous. Curvacious black metal frames on the chairs and sofas will help to create the elegant style of an upscale resort on the Riviera. Choose a muted palette of neutrals and pale green for the cushions to create an understated glamor. Glass topped side tables will complete the effect. On the menu in the lounge? French Champagne to toast the newlyweds, of course!
